Seed-to-sale traceability
Trace every lot from mother plant to sale, and explain every number
Traceability is only as good as the records behind it. Tracert One keeps lineage at every step, from the cutting to the package a customer buys, and keeps the trail when a record has to be corrected.
Lineage at every step
Track and trace starts inside the facility. If a batch cannot be traced back without asking someone who was there, no report built on top of it will hold up.
- Propagation
- Cut counts per mother plant by cutting date, with the mother's own lineage back to the seed lot or source culture.
- Rooms and moves
- Plant counts by room and position. Moves between rooms are recorded as transfers, not edits.
- Processing
- Every output lot carries the full set of contributing input lots, with yield and loss per run.
- Packaging
- Bulk lot into finished SKU, with every unit tracing back to its source lot.
- Shipments and sales
- Shipping documents by package, deliveries tied to the vehicle that moved them, and a sale that decrements the same package the filing sees.
Corrections that keep the trail
The scale was not tared, the room was logged wrong, someone keyed 42 where they meant 4.2. Corrections are routine in a grow room, and a traceability system has to treat them that way.
In Tracert One a record is voided with a reason and linked to the entry that replaces it. The original is never deleted, so the lineage stays complete and the correction is part of the audit trail.
Mass balance and discrepancies, raised before an inspection
Trim, stem and waste fractions are weighed separately so the mass balance closes. Destruction events carry reason, method, weight and witness.
The system continuously checks its own records against what is physically there and what has been reported, and raises the divergence with whoever can fix it: a batch that reached a stage without a required result, or a package missing from the last reported period.
Track-and-trace reporting: where it stands
Reporting is live and runs on the same records as everything above. The period is validated and anything that will not reconcile is surfaced before the file is produced, so the report you file is one you have already checked.
Where a regulator takes a push into a government track-and-trace system rather than a file, that is on the build list, and founding partners have direct input on which one comes next.
Questions operators ask
What does seed-to-sale traceability mean?
Being able to follow any unit of cannabis back through every step that produced it, from the mother plant or seed lot through cultivation, harvest, processing, testing and packaging, and forward to the shipment or sale it left the facility in.
What is the difference between track and trace and seed-to-sale?
The terms are often used together. Track and trace usually refers to the reporting a regulator requires, often into a government system. Seed-to-sale describes the records an operator keeps across the whole chain. The reporting can only be as accurate as those records.
Can Tracert One report to my regulator's track-and-trace system?
Reporting files are live today, validated before they are produced. Direct pushes into a government system are on the build list. Tell us your jurisdiction and you will get a straight answer, including if the answer is not yet.
What happens when a traced record is wrong?
It is voided with a reason and linked to the entry that replaces it. Nothing is deleted, so the lineage and the audit trail both stay intact.
